Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Devjit Saikia talked about the team not getting the Asia Cup trophy despite the event ending on September 28. Saikia said that if the trophy is not handed over to him by Monday, the matter will be raised during the ICC meeting on November 4.
India defeated Pakistan in the final match held in Dubai. However, the team refused to accept the Asia Cup trophy from PCB chairman and ACC president Mohsin Naqvi during the post-match presentation ceremony. An official removed silverware from the podium, with no explanation given.

Devjit Saikia revealed that the board is still waiting for the Asia Cup trophy. He said that the trophy has not yet reached the BCCI office and confirmed that a formal request was sent to the ACC President about ten days ago.
“After today’s win, our team immediately got the trophy. When our men’s team won the Asia Cup in Dubai, the trophy has not reached the BCCI office till date… 10 days ago, we had written a letter to the ACC chairperson requesting him to hand over the trophy to the BCCI as soon as possible.” Saikia told ANI,

Devjit Saikia said that the Asia Cup trophy has still not reached BCCI. He said that the board will wait for one more day and if the trophy is not received by November 3, then they will raise the issue in the ICC meeting. Saikia said the ICC will ensure that the trophy is handed over to India.
“But till date, we have not received the trophy. We are waiting for another day. If we do not get the trophy by November 3, a meeting will be held at the ICC in Dubai. We will raise our complaint with the apex body of international cricket. I am sure the ICC will do justice and help India get the trophy as soon as possible.” Saikia added.
