MI star batsman Quinton de Kock and rising all-rounder Raj Angad Bawa have been ruled out of IPL 2026, and will continue their rehab under the guidance of the medical team. So they will announce the replacement as per IPL norms.
Mumbai Indians have played an important role in the rising stardom of IPL. However, in recent seasons, they have failed to maintain the momentum and have instead suffered defeats, finishing bottom of the points table on alternate occasions.
This season, as well, the Hardik Pandya-led team has had a disappointing campaign. With only four wins after 12 matches this season, Mumbai are ninth in the ten-team points table, and were the first team to be eliminated from the playoff race this season.

Mumbai Indians have suffered a major blow to their campaign as players like veteran South African star Quinton de Kock and Indian all-rounder Raj Angad Bawa have been ruled out due to injuries. He will not be a part of the MI team for the remaining two matches of IPL 2026.

Quinton de Kock’s good form in IPL 2026
Left-handed batsman Quinton de Kock made a comeback for Mumbai Indians this season. He was brought into the team after Rohit Sharma was out due to injury. He scored a century in his first game this season against Punjab Kings.
De Kock scored 132 runs in three innings before being ruled out due to injury. Although Jonny Bairstow could most likely be announced as his replacement, Rickelton is likely to continue as the main wicketkeeper batsman.
Rickelton’s form has been promising this season, as he is the only batsman to score 400+ runs for Mumbai Indians, and he is likely to play for them in their remaining two matches.
Mumbai Indians will make massive changes in the team for 2027
Before the next season of IPL, Mumbai Indians can make some major changes in their team. Mumbai has performed well on many occasions and many batsmen have contributed, yet they have not managed to win many matches this season.
Probabilities claim that players like Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav may be dropped from the MI team. Hence the MI management will be looking for a new captain for the upcoming season; In those circumstances, everyone from Tilak Verma to Jasprit Bumrah could be possible options.
