Punjab Kings coaches play a new role in India
Amidst anarchy, former Indian selector Sunil Joshi has been nominated as the bowling coach of the India A team for the Australia A Tour, according to TOI. The series consists of two first -class games, followed by three day -long games, and Joshi will be part of Rishikesh Kanitkar’s coaching team.
The series is scheduled to begin on 16 September, and the second match will be played from 23 September. After these multi-day Games, which will be held in Lucknow, three one-day matches have been scheduled at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
54 -year -old Joshi played 15 Tests between 1996 and 2002 and 69 ODIs for India, taking 110 wickets in both formats, while scoring 936 runs. He was recently seen as a bowling coach of Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.
Atul Ranade named India AK Fielding Coach for Australia Tour
With the appointment of Joshi, India has been made another new appointment for a coaching staff. Atul Ranade, Assistant Coach, Current Mumbai, who was a fielding coach from Mumbai in his winning 2022-23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, has been appointed as India’s Fielding Coach A Side.
A source told TOI, “Joshi and Ranade have been appointed for only one series for Australia.” Overall, the sides with large -scale experienced international players under the leadership of Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer look wide, and the coaching unit is also full of some high experienced men.
A glimpse in Sunil Joshi’s career
Although Joshi may not have played international cricket for decades, he is not devoid of immense experience in sports. He played for the Karnataka state team in the 1990s, a stallwart of Indian domestic cricket and in the early 2000s.
He brings 160 first -class games, 163 list A matches and 15 T20I experiences. After giving his career as a cricketer, he was the national selector of the Indian team from 2020 to 2023.
However, recently, he has played the role of IPL franchise, assistant coach of Punjab Kings and spin bowling instructor under head coach Ricky Ponting. Before playing a role with Punjab Kings, he was the coach of the Uttar Pradesh state team for the previous domestic sessions.
The player also brings international coaching experience, works with Bangladesh as his spin advisor.
