PSL seals ₹2,600 crore broadcast deal, still dwarfs IPL empire

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is reportedly set to sign the biggest commercial deal in the history of Pakistan cricket. According to reports, the league’s media rights for a four-year cycle from 2026 to 2029 have been sold for PKR 2,600 crore, making it the most valuable broadcast deal ever secured by the PSL.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently launched the bidding process for a combined package of television and digital streaming rights for the Pakistan market. The value of this deal has increased further as the number of matches per season will increase from 34 to 44 after the addition of two new franchises.

PSL is going to make the biggest commercial deal in Pakistan cricket history

According to journalist Salim Khaliq, Valley Technologies has acquired the media rights to the tournament for all four years. He said that the four-year media rights of the league have been sold for PKR 2,600.

Today’s latest news. The biggest commercial deal in the history of Pakistan cricket. PSL’s four-year media rights have been sold to Valley Technologies for Rs 26 billion.” Khaliq wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Despite record-setting revenues in the Pakistan market, the Pakistan Super League operates on a much smaller financial scale than similar cricket leagues across the border.

The PCB has been forced to adjust the tournament schedule for the second consecutive year. Notably, the league usually runs in February–March, but that window is now occupied by the ICC T20 World Cup, pushing the tournament to the March–May period.

Valley Technologies secures Multan franchise with record bid

Valley Technologies acquired the ownership of the Multan franchise after submitting a record-winning bid of PKR 245 crore. A total of five technically qualified bidders participated in the auction: Valley Technologies, AIM Next, Particle Igniter, CD Ventures and DSM.

The franchise entered the auction with a base price of PKR 182 crore, and the bidding was completed in a single round before Volley Technologies came out on top. After the purchase, Multan Sultans was relocated and rebranded as Rawalpindi. The franchise was purchased for Rs 245 crore, becoming one of the biggest deals in the league history.

Rawalpindi will now feature as a new entrant in the Pakistan Super League for the 2026 season. The tournament is scheduled to start from March 26.

PCB awards technologies for PSL 2026 global media rights

Pakistan Cricket Board awarded global broadcast and digital media rights for the 11th season of Pakistan Super League to Valley Technologies. The one-year deal signed for PSL 2026 is worth Rs 88 crore.

The agreement gives Valley Technologies control of all international media rights for the season, excluding the Indian market. The deal represents an increase of 149% compared to the previous rights round.

PCB has decided not to sell the broadcast rights in India for PSL 11. The decision was taken due to the ongoing tension with the ICC and earlier instances when Indian broadcasters had suspended coverage during the tournament.
