The final battle of PSL 2024 has arrived and it’s Multan Sultans and Islamabad United who will clash in the final. The encounter takes place on Monday, March 18 at National Stadium in Karachi.
Multan Sultans are the runners-up of the last season. They ended as runners-up in the last two seasons. In the league stage of PSL 2024, Multan Sultans were the most powerful team. Led by Mohammad Rizwan, they grabbed the top spot in the points table.
Later, they won the Qualifier game against Peshawar Zalmi to become the first finalists of PSL 2024. Batting first in the match, Peshawar Zalmi could only pile up 146-7 with a top knock of 46 by Babar Azam. Later, Yasir Khan slammed a half-century while Usman Khan scored an unbeaten 36 to drive the team to victory by 7 wickets.
Shadab Khan leads Islamabad United in the league. In the playoffs, they crushed Quetta Gladiators by 39 runs in Eliminator 1. Batting first, Islamabad United piled up 174-9 in 1st innings. Later, they bundled out Quetta Gladiators for 135.
Islamabad United later outplayed Peshawar Zalmi by 5 wickets in Eliminator 2. Peshwar posted a fabulous total of 185-5 batting first with a fifty by Saim Ayub. However, Imad Wasim and Haider Ali scored half-centuries to drive the team to victory.
