Their valuation is decreasing – PSL CEO on IPL
PSL CEO Salman Naseer compared the valuations of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Pakistan Super League (PSL). He said that while the overall valuation of IPL is decreasing, that of PSL is increasing.
“If you look at it, their valuations are going down while ours are going up,” the CEO said.
The IPL’s valuation has reportedly fallen by about 8% to around $8.8 billion due to challenges in the media and gaming sectors. Conversely, the PSL’s valuation has increased following a significant increase in global viewership.
We sit together and sort them out amongst ourselves – PSL CEO
Salman Naseer addressed the concerns regarding Multan Sultans, saying that any internal matters within the franchise are resolved collectively and privately. He emphasized that the league and its teams work like a family.
“When there are any issues in the family, we sit together and resolve them.”
Multan Sultans, who recently made headlines after owner Ali Tareen’s sarcastic apology to the PCB, has now adopted a constructive approach by proposing reforms to enhance the professionalism and governance of the Pakistan Super League.
In a letter to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Tareen acknowledged the recent rift between the two sides. He urged a more transparent and accountable system.
The franchise presented a four-point plan focused on incorporating franchise input into PSL committees, adopting structured appointments to key roles, implementing a professional management model and improving information sharing between the PCB and team owners.

“The PSL will continue with or without anyone. The league will not stop because of any one person. It is reaching new heights and no one can stop it.”
The 11th season of the Pakistan Super League is likely to be rescheduled to April or May 2026 due to the ICC World Cup, and the schedule will overlap with the Indian Premier League.
In the previous edition, Lahore Qalandars won the title by defeating Quetta Gladiators in the final. The win was Lahore’s third title, placing them alongside Islamabad United among the most successful teams in PSL history.
