The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 schedule was announced on Tuesday, as Pakistan’s franchise league is scheduled to begin on March 26 and run till May 3. This is going to be the 11th edition of the PSL, as defending champions Lahore Qalandars will take on newly introduced Hyderabad Kingsmen in the opening match of the fixture.
The 11th season has been a big one for the PSL as it has eight teams instead of six. Hyderabad Kingsmen is the new team along with Rawalpindi Pindies. Multan Sultans returned as CD Ventures acquired a majority stake in the Sialkot Stallions franchise, which was supposed to be the newest addition to the league.
Peshawar to host one match of PSL 2026
The Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar also got its first game after the renovation of the new stadium. Like the previous edition, they failed to host any matches in this stadium. So, Peshawar based franchise Peshawar Zalmi will play one of its matches at this venue.
Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators in the final of PSL 2025. They are the joint most successful franchise with Islamabad United, as both teams have won the PSL three times each. With the new edition, Qalandars will be looking to defend their trophy.
PSL sets new broadcast records
Valley Technologies has acquired the record-breaking four-year broadcast and live-streaming rights of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for approximately PKR 26.11 billion ($93 million), an increase of 21% per game. The agreement provides global rights (except India) with 44 matches scheduled for the 2026 season.
There were reports from Pakistan news channel, Sama News, that PSL 11 could be held at a neutral venue outside the country. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Mohsin Naqvi only thought of hosting the final outside the country.
Lahore will host the final
Lahore will host the most number of games, with 15 matches including major knockout fixtures. Rawalpindi is in second place with 11 matches. Faisalabad has been allotted 7 matches, while Karachi will host 6 matches. Meanwhile, Multan is set to host 4 matches, and one match will be played in Peshawar.
However, with the schedule and fixtures yet to be released, the final is scheduled to take place on May 3, 2026 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Fans will enjoy the entire PSL season in Pakistan.
The PSL will overlap with the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL), as it is the richest and most watched franchise league in the world. It will be a challenging thing for PSL to handle the viewership numbers.
