Mumbai opener Prithvi Shaw has officially informed the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) that he wants to move and play for another state team as a ‘professional’ cricketer. Prithvi Shaw has allegedly requested the No Object Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
Shaw’s relations with the Mumbai team and MCA were tense in the last one year. He was removed from the Ranji Trophy squad in 2023 due to poor fitness. Reports have shown that Shaw had about 35%of fat, and MCA trainers strictly strictly stricted him on a two -week fitness plan.

However, despite the efforts, Shaw’s fitness and form did not improve. As a result, the selectors of Mumbai also dropped him out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy squad in December 2024. Now, with opportunities to dry up in Mumbai, Shaw has chosen to see a new beginning elsewhere.

Shaw is allegedly in conversation with two to three state teams, already to join the upcoming domestic cricket. A MCA source confirmed that the batsman had sought NOC to represent another kingdom in the next season, and the decision would be taken soon.
A source in the Mumbai Cricket Association was told by the Indian Express, “They have demanded NOC from us, and we will soon take a decision on it.”
