The flashpoint occurred after Shaw was out for a remarkable 181 off 220 balls – an innings that once again highlighted his natural flair and dominance at the crease. As soon as he started returning to the pavilion, Musheer, who was fielding nearby, reportedly said ‘Thank you’ in a sarcastic manner. Shaw did not like this comment and he turned back and faced the young Mumbai player.
Eyewitnesses said that Shaw exchanged words with Mushir and raised his bat in frustration before on-field officials intervened. The umpires immediately stepped in to calm the matter and ensure that the controversy did not escalate further.
Shaw reconciles with Musheer after viral controversy
After a heated moment, Shaw took the initiative to mend differences with Musheer. A source revealed that Shaw contacted Mushir to apologise, admitting that his reaction was excessive.
“Prithvi realized her mistake and spoke to Musheer and told him, ‘I am like an elder brother to you.’ Now things have been resolved between them.” Source added. The reconciliation was also facilitated by Shaw’s long-standing friendship with Musheer’s elder brother, Sarfaraz KhanWhich helped in reducing the tension between the two young cricketers.
