Indian women’s team gets record ₹90 crore after historic World Cup win
Notably, India’s historic World Cup win came with record-breaking prizes. The team earned a whopping US$4.48 million (approximately ₹39.78 crore) from the International Cricket Council (ICC), the highest prize money ever given in any Cricket World Cup.
Not only this, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia also announced an additional cash reward of ₹51 crore for the entire team. This amount will be shared among the players, coaches and support staff as a mark of appreciation for their hard work and dedication that led India to its first-ever Women’s World Cup title.
