Match number 21 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 was between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals. The match was all about India’s young fast bowlers Prafulla Hinge and Saqib Hussain, both the budding fast bowlers took four wickets each and demolished the RR batting order while they were chasing the target of 217 runs.
Prafulla Hinge wreaked havoc by dismissing three batsmen in the very first over, becoming the first bowler to do so in 19 editions of the tournament. He dismissed Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Luan-Dre Pretorius. RR won the toss and decided to field first. Jofra Archer gave a dream start to RR by taking a wicket by dismissing Abhishek Sharma on the very first ball.
Ishaan Kishan a hero once again
However, SRH skipper Ishan Kishan once again stepped up and scored a brilliant 91 off 44 balls and was ably supported by Heinrich Klaasen as he scored 40 off 26 balls. Later, it was Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora as the duo played crucial roles by scoring 28 and 24 runs respectively. SRH scored 216/6 in their 20 overs.
RR, in the chase, were demolished by player of the match Prafulla Hinge, who dismissed Vaibhav on the very first ball of the second innings, and he did not stop and continued taking wickets in the first over and got off to a dream start. In his second over, he picked off RR captain Riyan Parag.
Prafulla Hinge was all over Rajasthan
At one point RR’s score was 9/5 and from there Donovan Ferreira and Ravindra Jadeja stitched a 118-run partnership to save the table toppers from humiliation. The former scored 69 runs in 44 balls and Jaddu scored 45 runs. Royals were bowled out for 159 runs and SRH won the match by 57 runs.
After Prafulla Hinge’s amazing spell of 4/34 in his first game, he won Player of the Match. After receiving the award, he said, “I had written somewhere that I would take 4-5 wickets in my debut match. I thought about dominating the powerplay. I believe in this (expression). I started cricket at the age of 13.”
Suryavanshi Wicket- Prafulla Hinge on his best wicket among the four.
“Didn’t know what leather ball cricket was. Asked my father to join a club. But he said I was too young. Then he took me there and I kept playing after that. Want to dedicate this award to my family. (On my favorite wicket) Suryavanshi wicket. I told people I would bowl them bouncers and get them out.”
Prafulla Hinge finally said, “I just wanted to get him out. Varun bhai (our bowling coach) helped me plan it, so thanks. (On his body) Right now, it’s fine. I want to thank MRF (Pace Foundation). Naveen sir was there and I want to thank him that I am on this platform now.”
