This is not the first time that a Pakistani player has been accused of misconduct, last year Haider Ali was detained by Manchester Police on rape charges. This incident happened when Pakistan Shaheen was on a tour of England. He was later released due to lack of evidence.
Another incident occurred when the team’s massage therapist Malang Ali had already been accused of misbehaving with a female staff member during their trip to Malaysia. Pakistan players have been fined for poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2026.
Pakistan management under pressure
Despite winning their last game against Sri Lanka, the team failed to qualify for the semi-final round. Pakistan players have been fined PKR 5 million (about US$18,000). There have been changes in the PCB management, new members have been added to the selection committee.
There have also been reports of change in the role of the head coach. Pakistan Under-19 head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed could be the new head of the Pakistan cricket team for the Test format as the position of Test coach has become vacant. Pakistan will go to Bangladesh for a 3-match ODI series.
