The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that it will make a final call on Pakistan’s participation in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 on Wednesday (September 17). Last Sunday, in view of Handshek Ro during the match against India, PCB threatened to get out of the competition if the match referee Andy Pikeroft was not removed.
Indian players maintained a ‘no handshek’ stance in the entire match due to the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year.

Pakistan Board exits Andy Picroft
The board accused the former Zimbabwe Cricketer of violating the code of conduct. The Pakistan Cricket Board claimed that Pycroft had told Aga that there would be no handshake in the toss.
The Pakistani board also complained to the ICC that the actions of Pikeroft had violated MCC laws. The PCB also demanded the removal of picroft from the remaining part of the Asia Cup. Media reports suggested that Pakistan was considering withdrawing from the tournament if this demand was not met.
Details of PCB issues
With Pakistan’s participation in the remaining part of the remaining Asia Cup uncertainty, the Pakistan Board issued a statement saying that ‘counseling was going on’. The UAE was faced to face the UAE on Wednesday with Pakistan, the board said that a final call would be taken on the same day keeping in mind the interest of Pakistan.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan also canceled its pre-match press conference. However, the team’s training session proceeded as per the plan. After the loss against India, Pakistan’s Asia Cup hopes are hanging from a thread. They need to win the game against UAE for progress for Super 4S.
On the other hand, India in the next round booked its place with a 7-vein win over men in green. If Pakistan qualifies for Super 4S, they will face India at least one more time in the tournament.
