PCB announces Pakistan squad for Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025; Muhammad Irfan Khan will lead

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially unveiled the 15-member Pakistan Shaheen upcoming men’s team rising stars asia cup 2025It is scheduled to be held in Qatar from 14 to 23 November. Eight teams will participate in the tournament, featuring some of the most promising young cricketers in Asia.

Irfan, known for his calm nature and solid stroke play, will guide the Shaheens in what promises to be a competitive contest.

The PCB selectors have chosen a mix of youth and experience in the squad, ensuring a balance between rising stars and players with prior international experience. The squad includes dynamic all-rounders, aggressive batsmen and wicket-taking bowlers – reflecting Pakistan’s focus on developing future international prospects.

The team will hold a preparatory training camp at the Hanif Muhammad High Performance Center in Karachi from November 8 to 11 before leaving for Qatar on November 12.

Difficult group stage for Pakistan

Pakistan Shaheen have been placed in Group B, which includes India ‘A’, Oman and UAE – making it one of the toughest pools in the competition. Group A comprises Afghanistan ‘A’, Bangladesh ‘A’, Sri Lanka ‘A’ and Hong Kong.

Shaheen will begin their campaign against Oman on November 14, followed by the much-awaited clash with India ‘A’ on November 16, which is expected to capture the attention of fans across the subcontinent. Their final group-stage match will be against UAE on November 18.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals on November 21, while the final will be held on November 23. All matches will be held at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.

The Rising Stars Asia Cup aims to provide a platform for emerging Asian cricketers to showcase their skills at the highest level. For Pakistan, this tournament serves as an opportunity to groom the next generation of national team players.
