In match number 55 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Punjab Kings (PBKS) host struggling Delhi Capitals (DC) at the HPCA Cricket Stadium, Dharamshala. It was a reverse situation since the two sides met earlier this season, where PBKS chased the highest ever target in the history of IPL and T20. Tonight, DC took their revenge against PBKS by winning the game by 3 wickets.
DC won the toss and decided to field first, and surprisingly, they made a massive reshuffle in the team, making five changes, with Abhishek Porel, Sahil Parakh, David Miller, Auqib Nabi and Madhav Tiwary being replaced by Kuldeep Yadav, Pathum Nissanka, Nitish Rana, Karun Nair and T Natarajan. PBKS also made one change, with Lockie Ferguson ruled out through injury and Ben Dwarshius making his debut.

After being invited to bat first, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya got off to a great start, with the former being the aggressive one, scoring most of the runs inside the power play and completing his half-century in just 24 balls. PBKS scored 72/0 inside the power play. Prabhasimran could not make much impact and returned after scoring 18 runs.
In the middle overs, DC made a slight comeback into the game with the wicket of Priyansh (56 runs). Madhav Tiwari made a dream debut in IPL by choosing southpaw. Shreyas Iyer and Cooper Connolly made a partnership of 83 runs, Cooper Connolly returned after scoring 36 runs, Shreyas scored his half-century in 32 balls.
Later, Suryansh Shedge played an impressive inning of 21 runs off 8 balls and Shreyas remained unbeaten on 59 runs off 36 balls. PBKS scored 210/5 in 20 overs with the help of Suryansh’s explosive innings and Iyer’s help.
While chasing the target, Capitals had the worst start as they lost the top order in the form of Abhishek Porel, KL Rahul and Sahil Parakh inside the power play when the score was 33/3. DC captain Akshar Patel came out on top and stitched a short partnership with Tristan Stubbs, which could only manage 12 runs.
Axar and David Miller then stitched a valuable partnership of 61 runs, before Axar returned to the dugout after scoring a half-century off 28 balls. Akshar Patel was out on the score of 56 runs in 30 balls. He scored 51 runs in 28 balls before being dismissed by Ben Dwarshis.
After that, Ashutosh Sharma scored 24 runs in 10 balls, and Madhav Tiwary scored 18 runs in 8 balls, ensuring the Capitals’ victory in the game.
