Sri Lanka won five wickets over Zimbabwe Zimbabwe tour of Sri Lanka 2025It was held at Harare Sports Club on Sunday. Along with the win, visitors also took a 2–0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

Chasing a target of 278, Sri Lanka rode Patam Nisanka in a stunning century, named the Player of the Match.

Battle of Zimbabwe on Ben Karran and Alexander Raza

First placed to bat, Zimbabwe posted 277/7 competitive in 50 overs. Opener Ben Karran anchored the innings with a well -prepared 79 off 95 balls, while Alexander Raza scored 59 runs in 55 delivery including five fours and one six.

Veteran Brandon Taylor (20) and captain Sean Williams (20) pasted with a useful contribution, while Clive Madande (36 runs 36) made fireworks late.

Sri Lanka’s bowling attack was said by enemy Chamera, who scored 3/52 runs in his 10 overs. Asitha Fernando (2/67) and Dilshan Madushaka (1/57) also hit in important moments to keep Zimbabwe in the check.

Patham Nisanka and Charith Asanka Guide Chase

In response, Sri Lanka started carefully after losing Nuwanidu Fernando (14) and captain Kusal Mendis (5) early. However, Pitham Nisanka Anchored the innings with a sublime 122 with 136 balls, with 16 borders.

He received strong support from Charith Asanka, whose fluent on 71 off 61 balls shifted the pace in favor of Sri Lanka. A late cameo of Zenith Linazage (16 runs 16) ensured that visitors crossed the line with three balls, which ended at 278/5 in 49.3 overs.

For Zimbabwe, Richard Narva (2/53) and Brad Evans (2/54) were standout bowlers, while Ernest Masuku (1/32) gave a significant success.

On top of the order, Patam Nisanka’s masterclass was a decisive factor in chasing. His ability to absorb pressure, rotate the strike and punish loose delivery never lost the control of Sri Lanka.

After winning the first ODI by 7 runs, Sri Lanka sealed the two-match series 2–0 with a wider win in the second game.

The tour now turns into the smallest format, with the first T20i on Wednesday, 3 September at Harare Sports Club.
