In a surprising development, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins has left his team and returned home for a vital back scan in the middle of the ongoing IPL 2026.
Pat Cummins has not played much cricket since last July, except for one Ashes Test at home against England, due to his back problem and also missed the start of SRH this season.

Cummins flew back to Australia right after SRH’s thrilling win over Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday, April 2, reports ESPNCricinfo. This scan was already planned and will be done under the supervision of Cricket Australia (CA).

If everything becomes clear and Cricket Australia gives the green signal to its Test and ODI captain, Cummins is expected to rejoin the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) squad on April 17.
