Cooper Connolly follows Shaun Marsh’s lead with brilliant century for Punjab Kings

Connolly and Shaun Marsh both scored centuries in their 10th IPL match representing Punjab Kings. Connolly also became the youngest overseas batsman to score an IPL century at the age of 22 years and 257 days. He broke the previous overseas age records of Quinton de Kock and David Warner.

Connolly remained unbeaten on 107, the highest individual score recorded by a Pat Cummins-led Punjab Kings batsman. Sunrisers Hyderabad. He hit eight sixes during his innings, surpassing his previous best of seven sixes against Lucknow Super Giants earlier this season.
Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya were out cheaply, while captain Shreyas Iyer could only manage five runs. Marcus Stoinis scored 28 runs, Suryansh Shedge added 25 runs and Shashank Singh scored four runs while wickets kept falling. Punjab Kings finally faced their third consecutive defeat.
Earlier, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head added 54 runs for the opening wicket of Sunrisers Hyderabad in just 3.3 overs. lockie ferguson Abhishek was dismissed for 35, while Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Travis Head for 38 soon after the powerplay.
Ishan Kishan played a quick inning of 55 runs before Arshdeep Singh dismissed him in the 15th over. Heinrich Klaasen made an important partnership of 63 runs with Nitish Kumar Reddy and scored 69 runs in 43 balls with the help of four consecutive sixes.
