The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final turned heated when Jammu and Kashmir captain Paras Dogra got into a heated on-field altercation with Karnataka fielder Anish KV at the KSCA Hubli Cricket Ground on February 25, forcing captain Mayank Agarwal to intervene and defuse the matter.
Lucky boundary creates big drama in Ranji Trophy final
The drama began after Jammu and Kashmir escaped a tense situation in the 100th over of the innings. Karnataka’s fast bowler Prasidh Krishna bowled the fast ball at a speed of 140.5 kilometers per hour. The ball was a little short and was hitting the middle and off stump.
After pitching it straightened a bit and surprised Paras Dogra. Dogra tried to defend but could not connect properly. The ball took a thick outside edge and flew towards the gully.

But what happened next surprised everyone. As Dogra stood at the crease, some words were exchanged between him and a nearby fielder standing under the helmet at silly point. The chat soon became heated. Both the players looked angry. The situation started going out of control.
At that time, Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal tried to calm the anger. However, the argument continued for a few moments before the umpires intervened. In Hubballi, the players and umpires immediately separated Dogra and Anish.

The umpires were also later seen talking to Karnataka batsman Devdutt Padikkal and warned the fielding team about maintaining discipline during the Ranji Trophy final clash.
Dogra later apologized to Anish, but the substitute fielder did not want to accept his apology. Even the umpire tried to explain the situation to him and calm him down.
