Tim David’s Big Bash League 2025-26 (BBL 2025-26) season has ended early and disappointingly, creating fresh concerns for both the Hobart Hurricanes and Australian cricket. The hard-hitting batsman has been ruled out of the remaining matches of BBL 2025-26 due to a hamstring injury.
This setback has now put David’s availability for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in doubt. The power hitter suffered a hamstring injury during Hobart Hurricanes’ Big Bash League match against Perth Scorchers on Friday, 26 December.
Tim David’s BBL season ends in heartbreak after hamstring injury
David felt pain in his hamstring while attempting a second run. Realizing that something was wrong, he decided to immediately retire Hurt to prevent the injury from getting worse. At the time, there was still some hope that the damage would not be serious.

Those hopes were dashed after the medical scan was completed. As reported by Code Sports, scans confirmed a hamstring strain and as a result, David has been ruled out of the remainder of the BBL season.
