A major controversy has erupted after actor-producer Vidya Mane, who claims to be a childhood friend of Indian women’s cricket team star Smriti Mandhana, made serious allegations against singer-composer Palash Muchhal.

Vidyaan Mane accused Palash Muchhal of betrayal, fraud and serious financial irregularities. The issue has now taken a legal turn, with the singer-composer giving a strong statement. He also highlighted the Smriti Mandhana-Palash Muchhal episode in this matter.
Mane has alleged that he was defrauded of over Rs 40 lakh in an unreleased film project involving Muchhal. She further claimed that Palash has misled her emotionally and financially and this entire situation has ruined their personal relationship.

However, Palash, who was supposed to marry Smriti Mandhana before their marriage broke up last December, has strongly denied all the allegations. He said that the allegations leveled against him are completely false and without any truth.

Furthermore, Muchhal insisted that the claims were made with the intention of damaging his reputation and that he would fight the case legally. The singer-composer has confirmed that his lawyer is already looking into the matter and all steps will be taken through proper legal channels.
Palash posted on Instagram: “In light of the allegations made by Sangli-based Vidyaan Mane on social media, I wish to state that these claims against me are completely baseless and factually incorrect. They are made with malicious intent to tarnish my reputation, and will not be challenged. My lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, is exploring all legal avenues, and this matter will be dealt with vigorously through the proper legal channels.”

Meanwhile, soon after making these revelations publicly, Mane filed an official complaint against Palash in Sangli, Maharashtra. Recently he had made sensational claims regarding the relationship between Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana. He alleged that their relationship broke down after an incident during a wedding ceremony in November 2025.
Mane revealed that he was introduced to Palash through the Mandhana family and believed that Palash would eventually settle in Sangli after marriage. He claimed that he trusted the family and invested the money with the same faith, but everything changed after the relationship ended.

Hindustan Times quoted Mane as saying, “I was at the wedding ceremony (November 23, 2025) when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. It was a horrible scene; he was beaten by Indian women cricketers. The whole family is Chindi Chor. I thought he would get married and settle down in Sangli, but it had a completely opposite effect on me.”
Money dispute, pressure and claim of evidence
On the financial side, Mane recalled his meeting with Palash’s mother Amita Muchhal last month. She revealed that he asked her to invest another Rs 10 lakh; Otherwise, they will not get back their already invested money as the budget of the film has now increased to Rs 1.5 crore.
He said, “They started blackmailing me and threatened to throw me out of the film; thus, I was forced to file a complaint.” Mandhana’s alleged friend further revealed that after the breakup of her marriage with the Indian cricketer, the Muchhal family barred her from everywhere.
The actor-producer revealed that he has saved chats, call recordings and other communications, which he is ready to hand over to the police and also to the media if necessary.
