Pakistan head coach Azhar Mahmood shared a strange post about Babar Azam on social media during the Asia Cup 2025 in UAE. Babur is currently against India against the Asia Cup Super Four Clash in Lahore, which is going to be held on Sunday, 21 September at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Babur, once considered the best modern cricketer of Pakistan, was sidelined from the T20 Eye setup, which was after a long dip. The Pakistan Cricket Board appointed Salman Ali Aga as a captain and opted for a young squad to compete in the tournament, where he proceeded on the Super Four Stage.

In recent years, Pakistan greatly trusted Babur and Mohammad Rizwan. However, after a disappointing T20 World Cup 2024, the team management decided to move forward without them. They are currently unlikely to convenience in 2026 World Cup schemes.
Babar Azam last played T20I for Pakistan in December 2024

However, his recent form has been a concern for Pakistan. He last played for Pakistan in the T20I match against South Africa in December 2024, recorded a three -point score in his last 10 T20I innings, with 41’s best score.
Babar Azam played an international match during the ODI series against the West Indies, scoring 9, 0 and 47 in three matches. The batsman’s most recent international century came in 2023 against Nepal. Head coach Mike Hessen is hesitant to remember him or Mohammad Rizwan for the T20I squad.
