With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 and the Pakistan Super League (PSL), 2026 will be a very busy year for Pakistan. The Men in Green have to play several bilateral series with extensive travel and a hectic schedule, leaving little scope for rest next year.
Pakistan’s cricket schedule for 2026 is mostly based on the Future Tours Program (FTP). In recent years, the Men in Green have played many of their home series in the United Arab Emirates. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed most of the team matches for 2026, while some series are still awaiting final approval.
Pakistan set to start 2026 season with T20I tour of Sri Lanka
Pakistan will start their 2026 season with an overseas assignment. The Men in Green are set to play a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in early January. All three matches will be held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, giving Pakistan a chance to settle in early in the year.
After the Sri Lanka series, Pakistan will host Australia for a three-match T20I series. The tour will take place from January 30 to February 5 and will be their last tour before the T20 World Cup 2026. Playing in subcontinent conditions will help the team test its combination under pressure.
They will then turn their focus to the T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8. Back-to-back T20 series against Sri Lanka and Australia are expected to play a vital role in helping Pakistan build momentum and confidence before the start of the World Cup.
PSL 11 scheduled for April-May 2026, set to clash with IPL 2026
After the World Cup, Pakistan can host Australia for a three-match ODI series. The tour is expected to consist of three matches and is likely to be held in mid-March 2026, although final dates have not yet been confirmed.
The schedule will be locked once Cricket Australia completes its travel plans and the Pakistan Cricket Board gives official approval. If confirmed, this series will be added to Pakistan’s busy international calendar after the World Cup.
Following the international action, the focus will turn to domestic cricket with the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League. The PSL is scheduled to be played between April 11 and May 2026.
The tournament is expected to feature many foreign stars as well as prominent Pakistani players, making it one of the major attractions of Pakistan’s cricket season in 2026.
Pakistan set for tough England Test tour in 2026 as part of WTC cycle
Pakistan will have a tough Test assignment in 2026 when they tour England for a three-match Test series. The series will be played in August and September and is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.
This tour will be one of the biggest challenges of the year for Pakistan. All three Tests will be played at the historic venues Headingley, Lord’s and Edgbaston. English conditions are known to favor fast bowlers, which will test Pakistan’s batsmen and their ability to adapt away from home.
This England tour will also be important for Pakistan’s position in the World Test Championship standings. Apart from the England series, Pakistan also have other Test series in the same WTC cycle. He has to play two home Tests against Sri Lanka and two overseas Tests against West Indies.
