After a disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup 2026, the Pakistan national cricket team is in new trouble. They are already facing heavy criticism for their poor performance, and now, adding fuel to the fire, another controversy has emerged from within the team.
During their stay in Sri Lanka during the T20 World Cup 2026, an incident involving a member of the Pakistan team and a female hotel staff employee is set to embarrass the PCB and the entire country. The incident occurred before their final Super 8 match against Sri Lanka in Kandy.
Fresh controversy erupted in Pakistan when a player was accused of misbehaving with a female hotel staff.
According to Telecom Asia Sport report, the Pakistan national cricket team was staying at the Golden Crown Hotel when the incident took place in Kandy. A player of the team allegedly behaved inappropriately with a female housekeeping staff member inside the hotel.

“Ahead of Pakistan’s last Super Eight match against Sri Lanka, a player of the Pakistan World Cup team misbehaved with a female housekeeping staff member,” sources claimed.
The situation became shocking when the hotel staff appealed for help. Hearing the noise, other hotel employees came to save him. The matter soon reached Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema, who reportedly handled the crime internally.
“The staff member screamed and called for help, following which the hotel staff came to his rescue and reported the matter to Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema,” sources said.
PCB is hiding the incident!!!
The same report revealed that senior officials of the Golden Crown Hotel were very angry after the incident and the hotel management wanted strict action against the Pakistani cricketer as they felt this behavior was unacceptable. But at that time the Pakistan team manager saved that player.
Navid Cheema reportedly apologized to the hotel officials on behalf of the player and handled the matter within the team. It is being said that later the team management had fined the Pakistani player, but his name has not been revealed to avoid a big controversy during the program.

Although the name of the player has not been revealed, the issue is expected to be raised again when the team returns to Pakistan. Sources claimed that the player may be called by the PCB disciplinary committee for further investigation, and they may take strict action against him.
shameful events of the past
This controversy has come at the worst time for Pakistan. The team’s campaign in the T20 World Cup 2026 had already been disappointing. They managed to defeat Sri Lanka in their final Super Eight match but still failed to reach the semi-finals due to poor net run rate.
This latest incident has reminded of old controversies that took place during Pakistan tours. Last year, Haider Ali was detained by Manchester Police on serious charges during the Pakistan Shaheens tour of England, before being released due to lack of evidence.
In another previous episode, Pakistan cricket team’s masseur Malang Ali also faced embarrassment after a female staff member complained of misbehavior during their tour of Malaysia.
