Salman Qadir, son of Pakistan legend Abdul Qadir, has been accused of raping and sexually assaulting his domestic help. The incident has embarrassed Pakistan as well as the PCB amid the ongoing confrontation with ICC over alleged misbehavior with Bangladesh and boycott of ICC tournaments.
Pakistan cricket is already going through a bad phase after repeated spats with the ICC over the India-Bangladesh issue and participation in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Amidst all these tensions, a former Pakistani cricketer has been accused of rape.
Pakistan are scheduled to host the Australian team for a three-match T20I series and then play in the ICC tournament in Sri Lanka before the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. They have been placed in the same group with India, Netherlands, Namibia and USA.
Pakistani cricketer accused of rape
The ICC has already put the status of Pakistan cricket in danger as they have threatened to impose a ban if they withdraw from the competition. The World Cup will be in disarray if they allow two ineligible teams into the same tournament. Scotland are considered a replacement for Bangladesh, and if Pakistan withdraws, the ICC will have no option but to bring in Uganda as their replacement.
Reports have accused Salman Qadir, son of former Pakistan cricketer Abdul Qadir, of sexually exploiting a domestic help. Peakobserver.net report claims that the copy of the FIR states that Salman had called the maid for work. When she arrived, he forced her into his car and took her to his farmhouse.
He then allegedly raped her in his farmhouse. The case has been registered at Burki police station under section 376 of PPC. Authorities confirmed that he has been charged with rape.

Cricketer Usman Qadir, who has played for Pakistan at the international level, is also his brother and former Pakistan wicketkeeper batsman Umar Akmal is his brother-in-law. The 41-year-old has also played domestic cricket in Pakistan, although his career was too short for Lahore.
Victim’s statement on the accused
In her statement recorded by the police and reported by Times Now, the victim says that the domestic help worked from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. She told that the owner of the house, Qadir, called her and asked her to reach early the next day as he would take her to the farmhouse for cleaning.
She reported at 10 am on the 23rd and the accused picked her up from the front gate of Green City and took her to farm house no. 2 Near Abdul Qadir Cricket Academy in Barki.
She claimed that upon reaching there, he forcibly removed her clothes and started sexually assaulting her. Demanding justice for the heinous crime committed against her, the victim’s statement said, “The accused forcibly raped me (zina-bil-jabar), which is a grave injustice. Strict legal action should be taken against him for this.”
