Australia is likely to tour Pakistan for a three-match ODI series, which is scheduled to be played in Lahore towards the end of May.

The upcoming ICC ODI World Cup in 2027 will force all the teams to focus more on 50-over matches than any other format of the game. However, the WTC Championship final is also scheduled to take place in the same year, so they will also have to focus on the several Test matches that are scheduled along with the ODIs.

Pakistan’s performance in recent 50-over ICC tournaments has been abysmal, including group-stage exits from the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at home. Australia, on the other hand, dominated these competitions, winning the World Cup and finishing as semi-finalists in the CT.

Australia tour of Pakistan: ODI series proposed with temporary schedule

The last time the Australian team played a 50-over game on Pakistani soil was in 2025 when they toured the country for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and made it to the semi-finals of the competition.

The Australian team will tour Pakistan for an ODI series for the first time since 2022 and now, with the latest tour proposed, a tentative schedule has been announced. The Australian cricket team has revealed that all the matches are likely to be played at Gaddafi Stadium, as revealed by some sources close to Geo Super.

The proposed plan involves a three-match series marking an important international assignment for the home team, and the opening match is expected to be played on 31 May, followed by two more matches on 2 and 4 June respectively. However, nothing official has been done yet by the PCB.

Australia to tour Bangladesh for white-ball series

Australia have really dominated the Pakistan team in the 50-over format and have had the upper hand with 71 wins to 36 wins for their opponent. After the conclusion of their tour in Pakistan, the Australian team is all set to travel to Bangladesh.

The Australian team will be on Bangladeshi soil in June 2026 for a lengthy white-ball series, ending their 15-year gap between bilateral ODI series in the country. All three matches will be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

The tour will begin with three ODI matches to be played on June 9, 11 and 14 and then the next three T20 matches will also be played on June 17, 19 and 21. Bir Shrestho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.

Test series is fixed for Pakistan in 2026

Meanwhile, Pakistan will be preparing to step up their World Test Championship campaign with their upcoming two-match red-ball series starting against Bangladesh in May. The Test series is scheduled to start from May 8 and will be played till May 20 in Dhaka and Sylhet respectively.

After making a great start to their WTC campaign with a 1-1 draw against South Africa, the duo will be part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle in 2025-27.

Shan Masood and his team will try to take their campaign forward with a win against Bangladesh. Later this year, Pakistan Test team will play Test series against England, Sri Lanka and West Indies.
