Beyond the much awaited Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have announced a high-octane T20 tri-nation chain to fix their preparations for the ICC T2026.
Pakistan, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will face each other in the T20 Tri-Nation series later this year. The T20 Tri-Nation series will be held in Pakistan from 17 November to 29 November and will help the team finalize its final combination for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
This series is more important for Sri Lanka and Pakistan teams, as it will provide a great chance of rebuilding and testing young talents before the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka set the ICC T20 World Cup for T20 TRAI-series ahead of 2026
On Sunday, September 7, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed that the exciting T20 three-nation series would be held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The series will be played in a double round-robin format, in which each team will have to face twice twice.

The top two teams will play the final in Lahore on 29 November. The T20 TRAI-Nation series closes with Pakistan facing Afghanistan in Rawalpindi on 17 November. Afghanistan will then face Sri Lanka on November 19, after which Pakistan will take the Islanders in Lahore on 22 November.
A total of seven T20I matches will be played between three teams in November.

Asia Cup 2025 brings big rivalry to UAE
Meanwhile, the Asia Cup is set to entertain fans from 20259 to 28 September, hosting all matches with Abu Dhabi and Dubai. India originally was the host of the tournament, but political tension with Pakistan has pushed the entire tournament into the United Arab Emirates.

This 17th edition of the Asia Cup is historic, with the first record eight teams. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have qualified directly for the continental tournament, while the 2024 ACC Premier Cup has earned three top collaborative nations including UAE, Oman and Hong Kong.
Eight teams are divided into two groups. Group A stars India, Pakistan, UAE and Oman, while Group B includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. Each team once plays the role of others in their group. The top two super of each group will proceed in four rounds. Two best teams of Super Four will fight for the championship in Dubai on 28 September.
