Salman Ali has emerged as a major contender to convert Aga Mohammad Rizwan into ODI captain. He held internal discussion with the selection committee and high performance Center Director before the team visited Dubai. Salman is considered a long -term option for the role.
According to sources, “Pakistan cricket team has expected a change in major leadership in both ODI and Test formats, already consulting at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore,” according to sources.
Saud Shakeel likely to convert Shan Masood into Test Captain
Pakistan Cricket Board is considering a change in the leadership of the red ball. Saud Shackel is at the forefront of converting Shan Masood into Test Captain. The report states that the board wants to prepare young players for long -term leadership roles.
Earlier this week, a review meeting held at NCA focused on ensuring stability in captaincy in forms. Apart from captaincy discussions, Saud’s central contract is also likely to upgrade to Category B.
