In a major development which could have a huge impact, the Pakistan government has refused to allow the Pakistan national cricket team to participate in the match against the India national cricket team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
However, the government has given the green signal to the Salman Aga-led team to participate in the marquee tournament, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

“The Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has approved the Pakistan cricket team to participate in the ICC World T20 2026, however, the Pakistan cricket team will not take the field in the match against India on 15 February 2026,” the official statement said.
