The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly approved its operating budget for the 2026-27 financial year. According to a report in Geo Super on Monday, the Men in Green will have a busy international schedule as they will play a tri-series against Ireland and Zimbabwe.
The Ireland-Zimbabwe tri-series will be Pakistan’s second tri-series of the season. The team has to play an ODI triangular series with Sri Lanka and England. The PCB Board of Governors also approved the schedule of all men’s, women’s and regional domestic tournaments for the 2026-27 season.
Pakistan’s 2026-27 schedule includes Ireland, England, Sri Lanka and New Zealand
According to Geo Super, the PCB’s approved budget for the 2026-27 financial year includes funding for both existing and newly planned international tours. The report said Pakistan will tour Ireland for a one-off Test before traveling to England for a five-match ODI series.
The report also said that Ireland will tour Pakistan for a one-off Test at a later date under reciprocal arrangements. Pakistan is also scheduled to host Sri Lanka for a two-Test and three-match T20 series during the same cycle.
Apart from this, Jio Super told that New Zealand will tour Pakistan for a two-match Test series. These fixtures are part of the PCB’s international calendar approved under the 2026-27 budget.
First, The PCB approved autonomy for the PSL and increased match fees for Pakistani players during an important meeting of the Board of Governors.
PCB extends development tours for Shaheen, women’s and age-group teams
The PCB has also allocated funds for Pakistan’s development teams as part of its 2026–27 budget. The report said that Pakistan Shaheens will tour Australia, where they are scheduled to play eight T20 matches to give more international experience to the emerging players.
Geo Super also reported that England Under-19 will tour Pakistan for three one-day matches and two three-day matches. Sri Lanka Under-17 will also tour Pakistan for a bilateral series, while Pakistan will host the Women Under-19 triangular series featuring Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The report said that Pakistan’s senior women’s team will host New Zealand for a three-match T20 series. They will then travel to the West Indies to play three ODIs and three T20Is as part of their international schedule for the 2026–27 season.
Pakistan bounces back with ODI series win over Australia
Pakistan recovered well after a difficult start to the year, which included a 2–0 Test series defeat away from home to Bangladesh. The Men in Green won the ODI series 2-1 against Australia at home. This was Australia’s first ODI tour of Pakistan since 2022.
Arafat Minhas was named Player of the Series for his all-round performances, while Shaheen Shah Afridi was the leading wicket-taker with seven wickets. Josh Inglis top-scored in the series with 129 runs, while Babar Azam was Pakistan’s leading run-scorer with 125.
Pakistan won the first ODI in Rawalpindi by five wickets after chasing 200 runs. Australia leveled the series with a 41-run win in Lahore after scoring 231/9 and bowling out Pakistan for 190.
The deciding ODI turned out to be a low-scoring match. Shaheen Shah Afridi performed brilliantly with the ball and bowled out Australia for 157 runs. After this, Pakistan, chasing the target, scored 161/6 runs in 41.5 overs and won the series 2-1.
