The controversy that has been raging on the internet for the last few days regarding the exclusion of Bangladesh’s experienced fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from IPL franchise KKR after being bought for Rs 9.2 crore has now taken a bigger form.
So far, the Bangladesh fast bowler, who has been excellent in the domestic franchise tournament BPL and also had a stellar ILT20 season, has finally been recognized for his excellence by BCCI’s rival cricket board.
PSL confirms Mustafizur Rahman’s contract after IPL rejection
Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman’s contract was canceled by Kolkata Knight Riders after the BCCI issued a directive following anti-Bangladesh campaigns in the country and threats issued to KKR that the safety of so many cricketers could be at risk because of just one cricketer, Rahman.
PSL took full advantage of this opportunity and included Rahman in PSL for the first time after being out of IPL. Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB board has confirmed Rahman’s inclusion in the PSL.

Many players who were not sold in IPL may be the target of PSL.
The Pakistan Super League will play its 11th edition, and the window had to be moved again due to clashes with the ICC T20 World Cup, resulting in it now clashing with the original window of the IPL.
Many important players remained unsold in the IPL mini-auction. The first name that comes to mind is New Zealand’s star cricketer Devon Conway. Conway has shown great form since then and will also be a part of New Zealand’s T20I campaign and the upcoming T20 World Cup in India.
Such outstanding players who have been overlooked in the IPL may get their value contracts in the PSL. The Pakistan Super League is still growing and attracts many global talents; However, the IPL remains the most prestigious and financially valuable league in the world.
Bangladesh government has ordered to ban the telecast of IPL in the country.
Following Mustafizur Rahman’s exclusion from the IPL, Bangladesh government officials acting as advisors to the BCB have directed the Bangladesh Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to suspend the telecast of IPL matches in the country.
They have objected that no logical reason has been given for Mustafizur’s contempt, a move that has hurt and incensed the people of Bangladesh. Therefore, under such circumstances, IPL telecast will remain suspended until further notice from the government or BCB. The IPL 2026 season is scheduled to begin on March 26.
