There will be competition with Pakistan Sri Lanka In the second match of the three-match ODI series. This article provides details about the playing 11 of Pakistan vs Sri Lanka for the second match of the series.

Pakistan Playing XI vs Sri Lanka – 2nd ODI, Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka 2025:

Openers: Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub

Pakistan may have been most relieved as they had almost assumed they had a winnable game due to some inconclusive bowling in the last five overs during the first ODI against Sri Lanka.

The biggest cause of concern for the team in the last four ODIs has been the lack of wickets in the first ten overs, which they would like to improve in the upcoming match.

In the batting department, the home team is in dire need of a good start at the top of the order as the opening pair of Fakhar Zaman and Sam Ayub have scored runs individually but have not been able to perform as a partnership.

The Men in Green will support both the batsmen to perform well together and give the team a good start in the next game.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Salman Ali Aga, Hussain Talat, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf.

Amidst the poor performance of the opening partnerships, it is the team’s middle order that has been pulling it out of difficult situations in recent times, and the pair of Salman Ali Aga and Hussain Talat did just that after being bowled out for 95-4.

Salman and Hussain Talat added 138 runs for the fifth wicket and took the team to a score of 233 runs, with both batsmen scoring half-centuries at that particular stage.

Salman converted it to a century and got good support in the form of Mohammad Nawaz, who helped Pakistan reach the challenging score of 299 runs at the end of the innings thanks to his aggressive batting.

The team management would like Salman Ali Aga, Hussain Talat and Mohammad Nawaz to maintain their form in the second match and experienced batsmen Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan should also score runs.

Bowlers: Shaheen Afridi (captain), Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah

Pakistan will be happy with the way their bowlers handled things after the worst possible start, conceding 50 runs without taking any wicket in the first six overs.

The comeback was led by Haris Rauf, who took four wickets, including two in two balls, to take the Men in Green off the mark while defending the 300-run target.

Rauf was well supported by Mohammad Nawaz, who kept the Sri Lankan batsmen in check in the middle phase of the innings and created problems for the visitors by taking the important wicket of opposition captain Charith Asalanka.

The Green team would like both Rauf and Nawaz to continue their good work and captain Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah to take wickets with the new ball, giving players like Faheem Ashraf a chance to bowl with freedom at crucial moments in the game.
