Pakistan ODI team announced for Australia series; Mohammad Rizwan out, Babar Azam back

Pakistan has announced its squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia and Mohammad Rizwan has been dropped from the team, while veteran batsman Babar Azam has returned to the 50-over squad.

Pakistan will host Australia for a three-match ODI series which begins on May 30, a day before the end of IPL 2026. Pakistani players like Babar Azam will return in the three ODI matches, while former captain Mohammad Rizwan has been dropped from the team.

Rizwan has been dropped from the Pakistan cricket team after struggling with the bat.

Apart from Babar Azam, all-rounder Shadab Khan has also returned to the white-ball setup this time in the 50-over format after last playing in the T20 World Cup.

Pakistan squad: Shaheen Shah Afridi (captain), Salman Ali Aga, Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Naseem Shah, Rohail Nazir, Sahibzada Farhan, Shadab Khan, Shamil Hussain and Sufyan Mokim.

Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman are still undergoing rehabilitation

Veteran left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub, another dynamic emerging talent in Pakistan cricket, have been ruled out of the team due to injury. Both of these players were part of the PSL and after the entire season, are currently undergoing rehabilitation from respective injuries.
