The ongoing Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates has turned into a fully developed crisis after a handshake controversy in the India vs Pakistan match on 14 September. The tension between India and Pakistan has now increased in a possible tournament crisis.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is now threatening to get out of its next group A game against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), until the International Cricket Council (ICC) removed the match referee Andy Picroft from stopping the tournament.

This is a direct response to the Handshek controversy with PCB that came out during and after the India vs Pakistan match in Dubai. The controversy began when Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav refused to join hands with Pakistani captain Salman Aga in the toss.

Adding fuel to the fire, Suryakumar Yadav dedicated victory to India’s armed forces and claiming that some cases are beyond the “Sportsman Spirit”. After which the PCB raised formal complaints with the ICC and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), accusing the referee Andy Pikeraft of failing to implement the spirit of cricket and the ICC’s code of conduct.
Well, Andy Pycroft has been scheduled to end Pakistan’s next Asia Cup 2025 match against UAE on Wednesday, 17 September. However, PCB does not want Zimbabwe to finish his game, and if the ICC refuses to remove him, he will withdraw from the match with the UAE.

If they boycott the game due to Andy Pycroft, Pakistan will end with two digits, which will not be enough to make it for the super four round of the tournament. Both India and the UAE group will cross the men in green in the table of A -digit, ending Pakistan with the tournament.
