“At one point of time, Pakistan might have even thought of asking Rohit Sharma,” Sadagoppan Ramesh slams Rohit Sharma in Pakistan debate

Former Indian opener Sadagoppan Ramesh has trolled his rival Pakistan in a humorous manner. He started taking a dig by saying that Pakistan players might have started considering requesting former Indian captain Rohit Sharma to come down from the stands and save them from the situation for once.

According to the sarcastic comments of the former Indian batsman, Rohit Sharma could have captained them during this difficult phase and saved them with the bat as well.

Ramesh said on his Instagram handle, “At one point of time, Pakistan might have even thought of asking Rohit Sharma sitting there if he can captain them and bat for them. Bangladesh might be thinking that Pakistan behaved like supporting them only to avoid losing to India. Once India scored 175 runs on that pitch, it was all over for Pakistan.”

Another Indian player dismisses India-Pakistan matches as a potential rivalry

Suryakumar Yadav was the first person to defame Pakistan and deemed them no longer worthy of having a rivalry against India. Suryakumar had then cited the tremendous record of the Indian team against Pakistan in the Asia Cup T20.

Speaking about the same, Ramesh also dismissed the rivalry between India and Pakistan, and said that India sees its continental rivals as nothing more than a small step in its real goal of winning the T20 World Cup. India now have an 8-1 win advantage over their rivals.

He said, “Except for a day, India will not celebrate much of this win, because Pakistan is just a small step in its bigger goal. India’s only aim in this tournament is to see if Suryakumar Yadav’s team can achieve what Rohit Sharma has done in 2024.”

“India vs Pakistan or Ishan Kishan vs Pakistan” – Sadagoppan Ramesh

Indian opener Ishan Kishan was adjudged the Player of the Match, who gave a great start to the Indian innings by scoring 77 runs in 40 balls, laying the foundation of the team’s total of 175 runs.

“The talk on Pakistan TV was that Pakistan won the match by 37 runs. But turns out, they took Ishan Kishan’s score as India’s score. Kishan scored 77, and at one point, many people wondered whether it was India vs Pakistan or Ishan Kishan vs Pakistan. It was unclear whether he would even cross his 77,” Ramesh said (via the above source).

He further said that Pakistan would be curious as to why India can demolish them whenever they meet during ICC events. However, there are not a lot of options, as broadcasters often want the ICC to put them in the same group.

As the former Indian opener has suggested, India’s priority remains the trophy and Pakistan is just a team standing in the way. He further said, “By now, even Pakistan fans, who always keep rooting for the team despite losing to India, must have lost faith.”
