The remaining part of the Asia Cup 2025 has allegedly approved suspicion about Pakistan’s continuity. Last Sunday, after the Handshek saga during the match between India and Pakistan, the PCB threatened to get out of the tournament if the match referee Andy Picroft was not removed.
The Pakistan Board slammed Picroft for its role in the entire episode and accused him of violating the code of conduct. The Pakistani board alleged that Pycroft had requested the captains not to lay hands on the toss.
Andy Picroft becomes a headache for Pakistan
The Pakistan Board filed an official complaint for the ICC against Picroft, demanding the removal of the remaining matches of the Asia Cup.

UAE and Oman intervene because PCB draws out
However, the ICC refused to accept Pakistan’s demand to remove Picroft as an officer for the Asia Cup. According to reports, a middle ground has been thanked to UAE and Oman, with threatening to get Pakistan out of the tournament.
Cricbuzz has reported that the boards of UAE and Oman have played an important role in development. The report said that while the Pycroft will continue matches in the Asia Cup, they have been removed from the roster for Pakistan’s game against UAE on Wednesday (September 17). Richie Richardson, other ICC referee on the panel, is likely to end the match.
The news outlet further claimed that some face-saving changes were required after the PCB took the peak of pullout. The matter increased only when the ICC turned down the demand of the board to remove the Picroft. Along with being out of control, officials of Oman and UAE boards have intervened to resolve the situation.
official statement
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Board issued a statement saying that it would make a final call on the situation on Wednesday. His spokesperson, Aamir Mir said: “Consultation is going on in this regard, and a final decision will be taken by tomorrow. This decision will be taken keeping in mind Pakistan’s interest.”
Pakistan’s last group game is against UAE on Wednesday. After the loss of seven wickets at the hands of India, green men are in one-or-death position. They need to win the game against UAE for progress for Super 4S.
