Former Indian cricketers Mohit Sharma and Manoj Tiwari reacted to the ongoing war between Pakistani cricketers after their huge defeat to the defending champions in the T20 World Cup 2026.

Mohit Sharma and Manoj Tiwari react to public war between Pakistan cricketers

Salman Ali Aga and his team suffered a crushing 61-run defeat to the Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian cricket team in the group stage match, sparking a huge feud between current and former Pakistani players. Everyone is attacking each other on TV and social media.

It all started when Shadab Khan targeted former cricketers after his performance was questioned. He reminded them that under the captaincy of Babar Azam, Pakistan cricket team had defeated India by 10 wickets in the 2021 T20 World Cup in Dubai.

But his comment did not go down well with many former Pakistani cricketers. Basit Ali, Ahmed Shehzad, Shahid Afridi and even his father-in-law Saqlain Mushtaq attacked him strongly. The debate quickly turned ugly. Reacting to the drama, former India fast bowler Mohit Sharma jumped into the matter.

“Too busy talking about India”: Mohit Sharma criticizes Pakistan

Making fun of all this, Mohit has said that Pakistani players talk too much about India and forget to focus on their own game and this mentality is hindering the development of Pakistan cricket.

Notably, the Men in Blue have lost only once in the World Cup – the 2021 match in Dubai. Apart from this, India has been dominant. The head-to-head record in the T20 World Cup is now 8-1.

Cricbuzz quoted Mohit Sharma as saying, “All the Pakistani cricketers are still talking about it. They are just not concerned about themselves. They are fighting over who beat India and who didn’t. They are not talking about the World Cup, how we have to play in it, or how we need to improve. They are just bent on talking about India.”

He said, “When you talk, it’s not about you winning or defeating the other person; then you can’t move forward. They are living in the past, and I don’t think they can move forward in the coming future.”

Manoj Tiwari highlights ‘trust issues’ inside Pakistan dressing room

Meanwhile, Manoj Tiwari said that if Pakistan has to reform then it needs strong leadership and clear decisions. He told that confusion is clearly visible within the Pakistan team.

Tiwari highlighted a moment from Pakistan’s last match. Cameras captured the tense moments between Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Aga. And the former India batsman felt that moment highlighted the trust issues inside the dressing room.

Tiwari said, “If a country has to move forward, the leader should be firm in his decisions. There should be clarity and freedom. I don’t think the PCB chief has given complete freedom. Mike Hesson is trying to take the team along.”

In the last game, we saw things get a bit frustrating between Hesson and captain Salman Ali Aga. Babar Azam was not sent out. Agha threw the bottle. This proves that there is no trust.”

It is noteworthy that Pakistan’s Super 8 match against New Zealand ended without any result due to rain in Colombo. Now all eyes are on their next big match against England on 24th February.
