Not Vaibhav Suryavanshi! Shashank Singh talks about the most exciting young batsman of IPL 2026

Punjab Kings (PBKS) will adopt high standards to overcome this problem. Last season, they came very close to claiming their first Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy, but lost against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final. Ahead of the start of IPL 2026 season, PBKS star Shashank Singh assures that they will not leave any stone unturned

In the 2026 season, expectations will be high from young stars like Rajasthan Royals’ Vaibhav Suryavanshi and PBKS’s Priyansh Arya, who took IPL 2025 by storm with their explosive batting. Shashank Singh predicted that the upcoming Indian Premier League matches will bring more challenges for these budding batsmen.

Shashank Singh gives stern warning to Vaibhav Suryavanshi before IPL 2026

The PBKS designated finisher said that last year, when Vaibhav Suryavanshi showcased his aggressive batting, he was mostly an unknown, unknown talent.

As he turns 15 and comes into the limelight, the cricket world gets a chance to keep an eye on his batting style. The same can be said about Priyansh Arya. Every opposing unit will also be ready for the 24-year-old talent from PBKS.

Ahead of IPL 2026, Shashank Singh claimed that he will explore some technical areas to take the wicket of Suryavanshi as soon as possible when they face Rajasthan Royals.

Singh mentioned how he would take the wicket of Vaibhav Suryavanshi early in the match

“The teams will definitely be well prepared, and there will be pressure to perform this year. Expectations will be high, which is normal in India. Suryavanshi is a star in the making, but there are some technical areas that we will try to exploit to get her out,” Singh said in the JioStar press room.

He continued, “The same applies for Priyansh and other teams. So, the second season is even more important. The mental side is about managing expectations because now the expectations from them will be higher.”

Referring to the past, the batsman, who at 34 has matured as the seasons progress, pointed out that there have been many one-season miracles in the history of the league. Many talents have come and gone as they failed to perform due to the added pressure and heaps of expectations.

The finisher has high expectations from his partner Priyansh Arya

Shashank Singh does not know Vaibhav Suryavanshi personally very well, but knows the mindset of his partner Priyansh Arya. The PBKS finisher claimed that Arya can be a big threat to the opposition bowlers in the IPL 2026 campaign.

“We’ve seen it many times: someone has a great season, and then the next year, they don’t get the same opportunities. I can’t say much about Suryavanshi because I don’t know him personally very well, but from what I’ve seen, he’s very cool.”

PBKS’ designated finisher Shashank Singh claimed, “With Priyansh, he knows what he wants from his cricket life. I think he will do really well this year too.”
