As the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) is set to begin on March 28 in Bengaluru, Punjab Kings (PBKS) are gearing up to turn last season’s misery into extra motivation to win the trophy this season. Shreyas Iyer’s team missed out on lifting the trophy to RCB last season, but now they are more eager and more organized for the upcoming IPL 2026.
3 players can lead PBKS to IPL 2026 glory
It is expected that Shreyas Iyer will once again lead Punjab Kings strongly in this season also. But this time, the franchise is looking more dangerous than ever, and they cannot rely solely on their captain, who has many explosive players at his disposal.

They have fearless young sensation Priyansh Arya, silent match winner Marco Jansen and powerplay destroyer Prabhsimran Singh, who could be real match winners for PBKS this season. They will start their 2026 season against Gujarat Titans on March 31 in New Chandigarh.
Priyansh Arya
Priyansh Arya was one of the biggest surprise packages of the last season. The young opening batsman played fearless cricket and put pressure on the bowlers from the very beginning to give Punjab a great start. His aggressive style helped PBKS dominate the power play last season.
Arya has already shown that he can perform well under pressure, and if he is able to attack from the start, he can be dangerous for all his opponents. In his breakout debut season, the young opening batsman scored 475 runs in 17 innings at an impressive strike rate of nearly 180.
marco janson
Marco Jansen is a player whom every team wants in the playing eleven. He may not always be in the headlines, but his influence is widespread. With his height and bounce, the South African sensation becomes very dangerous with the new ball.
Johnson can break the opponent’s momentum in the early stages of the game. And most importantly, he is also a useful batsman lower down the order, which makes him a complete package for PBKS.
PBKS will rely on the all-rounder in difficult situations, especially with the ball. Notably, the left-arm fast bowler has taken 36 wickets and scored 141 runs in 35 IPL matches so far.
Prabhsimran Singh
Prabhsimran Singh is another key player of the franchise. An aggressive opening batsman can snatch the game only in the power play. His aggressive batting helps Punjab to put pressure on the rival teams right from the beginning of the match.
The wicketkeeper-batsman is equally strong against fast bowlers and spinners, making him a very dangerous asset for the Punjab franchise. The team is expecting him to provide the right middle-order platform going forward in the upcoming season.
Prabhasimran has played 51 matches for Punjab Kings since 2019. His best season was 2025, when he scored 549 runs and was one of the top run-scorers of the tournament. Overall, he has 1,305 runs to his name in the IPL at an impressive strike rate of around 152.
