Not Sachin Tendulkar! Wasim Akram revealed the most difficult batsman

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram had some top fights against the choice of Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammad Azharuddin, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh. In a rapid-fire interview with Stick to Cricket, the left-handed fast bowler was asked to name the most difficult name during his game’s days.

Wasim Akram played international cricket between 1984 and 2003. He represented Pakistan at 104 Tests and 356 Odis. “Sultan of Swings” took 414 Test wickets and became the first bowler in history to cross 500-marks in one day international.

Akram played an important role in Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup victory and was depicted in four versions of the tournament overall. He also captained the side in 25 tests and 109 ODIs during his brilliant career.

During the Rapid-Fire Session with Stick to Cricket, Wasim Akram was asked to name the most difficult batsman whom he once bowled. Akram chose New Zealand veteran Martin Crowe and stated that he scored at a time against Pakistan when reverse swing was still an unfamiliar art.

Akram told Stick to Cricket, “Look, it is a very difficult question to answer, but if you have to choose the runner against us, but no one knew what the reverse swing is, it should be the great Martin Crow,” Akram told Stick to Cricket.

Martin Crow was one of the finest batsmen of New Zealand during his era. He scored 5,444 runs in an average 77 tests of 45.36, including 17 centuries and 18 half -centuries. The former New Zealand captain scored 4,704 runs in 143 Odis on an average of 38.24, including four centuries and 34 half -centuries.

When asked which player he wanted to share the field, Akram named two modern great people. He said that if the opportunity is given, he would like to play with Virat Kohli and Joe Root.

“I think if I want to play against any player, there are some names that I will mention. I know one, but I will choose Virat Kohli and Joe Root,” Akram said.

Akram revealed that he would choose to win the World Test Championship on the World Cup, describing it as a final challenge. He nominated Waqar Younis as his favorite bowling partner and called Aqib Javed an undefied talent from his era.

“World Test Championship. We did not have the World Test Championship, but it’s the ultimate, I think it’s a long race,” Akram said.

Akram said, “I don’t remember that, but if I want to name a Pakistani bowler, it was Aqib Javed. He was really good and he was short,” Akram said.

Wasim Akram named Imran Khan as the best captain

Wasim Akram described Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) as the best place in world cricket. When the winning run is asked to choose between killing or taking wickets, he said that he would always like to win the match winning.

Akram saw Imran Khan as the best captain. He also shared the most valuable advice received during his career.

Akram said, “Always take the winning wickets.”

“One and only, the great Imran Khan.”
