Not Ravindra Jadeja! Krunal Pandya joins South Africa legend and New Zealand star as best fielder

Krunal Pandya made an intense, rapid-fire round episode hilarious with his innovative answer. While he had to find the best fielder among some of the best fielders in this case, the Indian all-rounder humorously linked the names of two different individuals.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has shared a video on Instagram with its star spin bowling all-rounder Krunal Pandya. According to Pandya, the purpose of the video was to find the best fielder.

Krunal Pandya chose the greatest fielder of all time

The video started with the usual 1v1 comparison between Suresh Raina and Yuvraj. Out of these two former Indian cricketers, Pandya voted for Raina. For the second set of comparisons, he took Raina out of the equation along with Mohammad Kaif. In the third set he chose Andrew Symonds in place of Kaif.

For comparison, the match took an unexpected turn after the third set as Pandya faced a very challenging situation. The fourth set was between Symonds and Jonty Rhodes. Krunal Pandya chose the legendary South African player Jonty Rhodes. In the fifth round, it was Rhodes versus Abraham de Villiers, Pandya said, “Jonty Rhodes”.

Krunal Pandya added Jonty Rhodes and Glenn Phillips

Now guess who Pandya voted for between Jonty Rhodes and current New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips? Since he failed to pick only one of these two brilliant fielders, Pandya said with a broad smile on his face, “Jonty Phillips”. According to the rules of the game, he had to mention only one of the two names.

By pronouncing “Jonty Phillips”, he actually broke the rules, but it was a funny and, most importantly, an innovative way of bending the odds. So the game continued.

The RCB star also ruled out Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli against “Jonty Phillips”

Ultimately, “Jonty Phillips” defeated the remaining contenders like Ravindra Jadeja, Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli to top the chart.

The 34-year-old spin bowling all-rounder is all set to play another Indian Premier League season for Royal Challengers Bangalore. On the back of RCB’s victorious season in 2025, Pandya played a huge role with the ball. The slow left-arm orthodox took 17 wickets in 15 matches at an economy rate of 8.23. With the bat, he scored a total of 109 runs in 7 innings, which also included the highest unbeaten run of 73 runs.

In the summit clash of IPL 2025 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings (RCB vs PBKS), Krunal Pandya played a decisive role in the game. With his conservative spin bowling, the veteran cricketer took two wickets giving only 17 runs in his four-over spell. The economy rate of 4.25 with 2 valuable wickets was a dream for the bowler.

Pandya dismissed two important PBKS batsmen in Prabhsimran Singh (26 off 22) and Josh English (39 off 23), both of whom were good set batsmen. Batting first, RCB scored 190 runs for 9 wickets in 29 overs with the help of Virat Kohli’s 43 runs in 35 balls.

PBKS tried as hard as they could till the last ball of the match, but they managed to score 184 runs in 20 overs. RCB claimed their first IPL trophy by winning the final match of IPL 2025 by just 6 runs.
