Not MS Dhoni! Purocating Engineer honored Old Trafford, Manchester with a stand in his name

Former Indian wicket-keeper batsman Farokh is set to be honored with a stand in his name at Engineer Old Trafford Stadium. Along with him, another great, former Captain Clive Lloyd of the West Indies, will also be honored in Manchester.

This step is a heartfelt gesture from the English County Club Lancashire, for which the couple played for a long time, PTI said.

These two were great and had a significant impact for the Lancashire County Cricket Club in the early 1970s. Farokh Engineer played at the club for nearly a decade, from 1968 to 1976, while Lloyd, who made his debut in the same year, continued to play until 1986.

Purocating Engineer and Clive Lloyd for being honored by Lancashire

Lancashire Cricket Club was one of the most famous county clubs in England after two legends entered the team. Not a single big tournament won in the last 15 years, Lancashire won his first major title in The Gillet Cup after the arrival of Farokh Engineer.

He won it four times between 1970 and 1975; It was a knockout one-day tournament played until 1980, but was later known as the Friends Provident Cup. Clive Lloyd arrived in the early 1970s to sign Lancashire abroad and changed the fate of the county team.

In particular, the Persian Engineer, who played for most of his career at Brabourne Stadium in India in Mumbai, does not have a stand after his name. Representing Lancashire, he played in 175 matches and scored 5942 runs and took 35 and part of the dismissal as well as 429 catches.

The stand may be inaugurated before the next test starts at Old Trafford

According to some reports, the standing ceremony for the Indian legend Farokh Engineer can be held on the early day of the Manchester Test. India will play the fourth Test at Old Trafford starting on July 23, and in their presence, the stand may be inaugurated before the game begins.

“This is a suitable respect for both legends of the club,” a potential source explained PTI.

Among all, there have been some good news for India, that Rishabh Pant is fit enough to take wickets for the upcoming testing. However, all -rounder Seemar Nitish Kumar Reddy has been rejected; Therefore, India will have to change the team.
