The 24-year-old India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurael has cited the reason behind its special celebration after an outstanding hundred in the first Test against the West Indies National Cricket Team.
Dhruv Jurlel slammed his first century in Test cricket in a series opener against West Indies led by Roston Chase at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, 3 October.
Dhruv Juraral Rishabh Pant’s shoes fill very well
Jurael is currently playing at the playing XI of the Indian Test team due to the absence of star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant from The Squad.
Rishabh Pant was sidelined for the West Indies Tour of India 2025 due to injury during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against the England National Cricket Team.
During the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester, playing a predetermined reverse sweep from Pacer Chris Woakes, he reduced the ball on his boot, causing him to face a fracture leg.
It was initially expected that the wicketkeeper-batsman would recover on time for matches against the West Indies, but it did not happen, and he is currently going through his rehabilitation program, being likely to be in the home series against South Africa.
In the absence of pants, the selectors nominated Ravindra Jadez as the deputy of Shubman Gill in the test team. In addition, it allowed Juraral to play as wicketkeeper-batsman playing XI in India.
I would like to dedicate them (Indian Army) what they do – Dhruv Jurlel
Jurall gave the most opportunity and broke his first test century in Ahmedabad. After reaching the achievement, he pulled a gun opening festival.
Speaking at the press conference after the match, Dhruv Juraral, who is the son of a Kargil war veteran, said that after reaching fifty, he had a salute for his father, but his centenary celebrations were for the Indian Army.
Juril said, “After reaching fifty, the salute (festive) was for my father, but for a hundred, it was something that was very long in my mind because I was so close to the Indian Army, I have seen my father since childhood.”
“What we do on the ground and what they do in the battlefield are very difficult and you cannot compare it. I will always respect my respect and everything I will do in future will be for them.”
He said, “I would like to dedicate them to (Indian Army).
It is about privilege, a lot of people live with squad – Dhruv Jurlel
Dhruv Juraral further stated that living in the Indian testing squad is a privilege for him, and whenever he gets an opportunity, he keeps himself ready to give for India all the time.
“It’s about privilege, a lot of people live with squads. Even if I am not playing, I keep working hard so that there is an opportunity when I can distribute. It comes with discipline, and I keep myself inspired,” Jurlel further said.
