Not all fairy tales have happy endings’ – Dinesh Karthik reacts to Rohit Sharma’s retirement rumours.
Speaking on The Scoop by Wisden, Dinesh Karthik was asked about the rumors surrounding Rohit Sharma’s retirement. He said that managing aging superstars is never easy as it is difficult to achieve a fairy-tale ending in the game.
“It will require a lot of communication, a lot of clarity, and that’s not easy. Then you have the players themselves, who are obviously making an impression with every game they play. Every tournament they go to, they perform very well, and it’s not easy to keep them out.”
“But having said all that, there is a way some seniors would like it to end, and I want them to be given that opportunity because of what they have achieved for the country. But in saying that, it’s not the easiest thing to achieve because sometimes not all fairy tales have happy endings.”
