Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have shown interest in signing Delhi Capitals (DC) wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. After Abhishek Nair became the head coach, the team is looking for a captain, especially since they do not see Ajinkya Rahane as a suitable option for the role.

according to Firstpost, The Kolkata Knight Riders are desperate to sign KL Rahul, but are facing several hurdles in their efforts with Delhi Capitals. The two teams held initial discussions, but nothing progressed despite several informal meetings between Rahul and the KKR management.
Delhi Capitals explored several swap options to make the deal successful. He proposed various combinations, which included Rinku Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Harshit Rana. However, KKR was unwilling to give up Rinku, one of its most valuable performers, and rejected all three offers.
