India bowling coach Morne Morkel has given a big update on injured all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who missed three T20 Internationals due to neck spasms after recovering from his quadriceps injury. However, the final decision from BCCI on his return is awaited.
Due to the injury to experienced all-rounder Hardik Pandya before the Asia Cup final, Nitish Kumar Reddy was selected for the ODI and T20 team for the Australia tour. However, Reddy suffered the same injury during a net session before the third ODI in Sydney.
He, too, was ruled out of the last ODI due to a quadriceps injury, and after recovering from it, he faced another major concern in the form of neck spasms, which kept him out of the first three T20Is against Australia.

He clarified that Reddy was looking good and had participated in every session as expected of him ahead of the fourth T20 match, but then clarified that his return was over pending further evaluation.
“Yes, he did all the work that was required or expected of him today, fielding, batting and bowling. And he chose all that. So, now we will find out where he is after the assessment,” Morkel told reporters on Wednesday.
