But things have not been as expected for all-rounder. In the 2025 season, the 22 -year -old sensation played 13 matches, but his role in the team does not match his expectations. He left mostly to bat at number 6 or number 7 and faced very few balls in many matches.
As a result, Nitish could only score 182 runs throughout the season and bowl in only 5 overs, contrary to his role as a proper all-rounder.
SRH lost Nitish Kumar Reddy for Henriques Klassen
India Today claimed that Nitish Kumar Reddy had asked the number 4 batting position before SRH agreed to have a big impact. However, when the season began, Sunrisers Hyderabad gave the place to South African Henrich Klassen.
Klassen gave the most opportunity and did his best IPL season, scoring 487 runs at a strike rate of more than 170 including a century. With Klassen firing on all cylinders and pitches, SRH felt that he needed a person with more experience on number 4.
This ordered Nitish, and his opportunities were limited. Now, Nitish feels that he was not given the promised role, and he is planning to leave SRH for a new beginning in IPL 2026. If Reddy enters the IPL 2026 auction, many teams will probably be interested in it. His ability to bowl and hit big shots quickly makes him a valuable player for any side.
