Delhi-born all-rounder Nikhil Chaudhary is all set to create history for Australia. If he gets a chance on the ongoing Bangladesh tour, Nikhil Choudhary could become the first Indian-origin male cricketer to play international cricket for Australia in over 60 years.

Chaudhary is in line to make his Australia debut in the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Chattogram. The youngster has recently been playing for JB Bruges in the EUT20 competition in Belgium following IPL 2026, where he was called for a trial with Delhi Capitals.
Nikhil Chaudhary set for historic debut for Australia
Well, after being named in the limited overs squad for the Bangladesh tour, Travis Head is currently unavailable after taking a break citing personal reasons. On the other hand, Australian captain Mitchell Marsh is recovering from an ankle injury and has already been ruled out of the current ODI series.

These setbacks have opened the door for Nikhil Choudhary, who has now secured an Australia call-up after strong performances in various competitions. The Hobart Hurricanes star is a leg spinner and a useful batsman in the middle order.
He is expected to join the Australian white-ball squad in Dhaka on Friday, June 12, ahead of the T20I series against the Bangladesh national cricket team in Chattogram. Nikhil will compete with Joel Davis and Aaron Hardy for a place in Australia’s playing eleven in the T20 series.
