Today New Zealand and South Africa were facing each other in the fifth match of the five-match T20 series. In a must-win match, rising New Zealand cricketer Nick Kelly took a brilliant catch to dismiss South African batsman Rubin Harman.
Nick Kelly covers the distance between mid off and mid on to take the catch
In the first innings of the match, when South Africa were looking to chase a target of over 200 with their set batsmen in the form of Rubin Harman and Connor Esterhuizen, the Kiwis put a dent in their plans.
On the first ball of the 16th over of the first innings, South African fast bowler Benjamin Sears gave a back-of-the-length delivery to Harman. The Protea batsman moved his back foot and tried to play a pull shot. He swung the bat, but the connection was not right. The ball went flying somewhere in the middle of the circle.
Nick Kelly, who was positioned in the middle of the field, assumed the path of travel of the ball and began running towards the offside area. Kelly raced from mid-off to mid-on and dived in front to catch the ball. He extended his left hand in the air to take a spectacular catch. A brilliant performance from Nick Kelly to send Rubin Harman back to the dugout. The batsman was out after scoring 39 runs in 31 balls.
