With a look at the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka in 2026, every national side is eager to focus its attention from other formats and keep it on the smallest format of the white ball.

Will Williamson return to the World Cup despite the contract snub?

New Zealand’s most experienced batsman, Kane Williamson, made headlines after denying a resolution for the second time in the last two years.

However, head coach Rob Walter has shown full confidence in Kane Williamson’s desire to act in international matches for black caps. However, Williamson has played in every ICC tournament for New Zealand, despite the first denial of contracts.

Citing the current position of playing in T20 format as well as his greatness and many T20 franchise-level tournaments worldwide, Williamson’s presence in the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will be on the card for Kiwi.

However, since Williamson now has a conscience of choosing for its availability, it will be completely their decision whether the feature in the tournament or not.
